I just read this rumor at some soap sites, and the rumor is either Melanie or Mia is her daughter. She had an affair at a medical convention and got pregnant.

Now, the speculation is on Daniel being the father, but what if the doctor she had an affair with....

AMC: Julia Barr returns for show's 40th Anniversary episodes

Barr will raise the bar for AMC's 40th.
This just in: Julia Barr will return as Brooke during ALL MY CHILDREN's 40th anniversary episodes in January!

Barr's publicist confirms that the show just approached the actress in the past few days. "I was very happy to be invited to participate in AMC�s 40th anniversary show," Barr says in a statement. "I look forward to the taping and to seeing old friends. I am particularly glad for my fans, since I know how much they miss Brooke!"

Brooke may never have officially left Pine Valley, but she hasn't been seen since Barr parted ways with the soap in 2006. An AMC rep had no comment on Barr's return.

Daytime soaps are the Rodney Dangerfield of show biz, but they�re getting big respect these days from James Franco. The unpredictable film star (�Milk,� �Pineapple Express,� the �Spider-Man� trilogy) asked to do a role on General Hospital and execs at the ABC soap hungrily obliged. Franco hits the air November 20 and will be seen in at least 15-20 episodes spaced over two months.

�There have been reports that James is doing this to research a movie role but it�s just not true,� says GH head writer Bob Guza. �As bizarre as it sounds, he really wanted to do a soap and we didn�t go easy on him. His first day on the set we shot 130 pages. In the movies, that�d take six months! The memorization alone was a killer, but James has been fantastic.�

At least he had no trouble remembering his character�s name�it�s Franco! The actor has not yet granted interviews and much about the role is hush-hush but here�s what we do know: Franco will be connected to the mysterious C077X graffiti tag that�s been popping up all over Port Charles. He�s a psychotic yet self-deprecating artist who is fixated on death and will zero in on Jason Morgan, the heartthrob mobster played by Emmy-winner Steve Burton.

�Franco is fascinated with Jason and what he does for a living�he thinks they both love death and are essentially the same kind of guy,� Burton reports. �But then Jason refuses to meet with him and that�s when things start to go south.�

Though Burton and Franco share the same personal manager, the two actors had not met before Franco reported for his first day at GH on October 30. �Obviously, the guy has no ego because he�s doing a soap,� Burton notes. �People were afraid about the workload on him and, to tell you the truth, I don�t think he knew what to expect. But he�s been very cool to work with, very easy. The stuff we�ve shot so far is great and it�s only going to get better.�

Despite Franco�s A-list film status, he�s known for nervy, offbeat career decisions: He recently enrolled in a class on queer cinema at NYU and popped up in a Saturday Night Live sketch in which he didn�t have any lines. It�s just been announced that he�ll guest-star on 30 Rock. And he�s already asked to extend his GH adventure. �We�re mixing James up with as many of our major characters as possible and creating a big umbrella story that will continue to play out after he�s gone,� says Guza. �He�s very excited and wants to do more. There�s a very good chance he�ll be back.�

Ok so apparently Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser mentioned she was having dinner with Vanessa Marcil. A fan told her via twitter to tell VM that her GH fans miss her and want her to come back. Then Jillian responds and says "She said James Franco is doing 2 months on the show and she would consider going back for that time to work with him."

One Life To Live getting canceled?

I know many of you dislike Perez Hilton (as do I), but I heard about the cancellation of Guiding Light on his website on March 31st. It was April 1st when I heard the official announcement from CBS that they were canceling the 72 year old soap Guiding Light. So, I'm beginning to wonder if this is true or if his suspicions garner any type of merit.

CBS's daytime drama AS THE WORLD TURNS is kicking off the "As The World Turns Never Surrender Tour" by holding open casting calls in three cities across the United States. Emmy-Award winning casting director Mary Clay Boland will audition aspiring actors in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Greenville, S.C. Ten locals will be selected to appear in upcoming episodes of AS THE WORLD TURNS that will be taped on-location in each city. Chosen actors will work with Michael Park (Detective "Jack Snyder") as his character travels the country trying to make amends for a life-changing experience. Although beaten down by the turn of events, the audience has come to expect that he "never surrenders," and will watch him grapple with his own guilt.

The screen test is open to men and women 18 years and older who are eligible to work in the United States. Those wishing to audition should bring a completed copy of the application and a signed release form, which are available online at each individual station's Web site. Copies of the application and the audition scene will also be available at each location's casting call.
