Michaela McManus, who plays Lindsey is going to be returning to "One Tree Hill" even though she will also be working on "Law Order: SVU". Lindsey will be returning as she may have been the one that Lucas calls at the end of last season. No word on how long she will be around or even exactly when she will return.

Peyton's dad cast maybe???
Remember the mystery man that Mia told Peyton (Hilarie Burton) she had met in the One Tree Hill season finale? You know, the guy who knew Peyton's biological mother back in the day? The dude we were led to believe might be Peyton's real pops? No? Me neither. But listen up anyway, 'cause this is about to get very interesting. I think.
Actor-musician John Doe (Roswell, seminal L.A. punk band X) is joining the One Tree Hill cast this season as said mystery man, sources confirm to me exclusively.
One of those sources, OTH executive producer Mark Schwahn, says the identity of Doe's character (who, ironically, is a John Doe himself at this point) will remain a mystery… for a little while at least. "Whether or not he's [Peyton's] father will be the question," Schwahn explains. "[But] we will find out one way or the other."

You mentioned that Brooke would be in a "dark place" on the new season of One Tree Hill. Can you give us any more hints?
If she doesn't get an Emmy for this, she'll be robbed.

Could it be that Lucas called and proposed to Lindsey? Many ruled her out once Michaela McManus got cast on SVU, but One Tree Hill's creator wants you to consider her still in the mix. "Michaela is returning, and for more than one episode," Mark Schwahn told me exclusively during an in-depth preview of the new season. "We'll see Lindsey throughout the year."
To those who track spoilers/on-set sightings and profess to know who Lucas wound up calling, Schwahn argues, "If Lucas were to pick Lindsey, who's to say she'd pick him back? And if she does, who's to say it works out? A lot of people have eliminated her as a candidate because they know a lot about show biz, but I'm like, 'Hold on a second....'"
Does that mean OTH's mighty love "rectangle" of Lucas, Brooke, Peyton and Linds is destined to continue on? "Not really, and not romantically," says Schwahn. "As you get older and more complex, how you love someone and what they mean to your life, that changes. So I think that romantically, it's probably done. But [those relationships] will always be a staple of the show. They’ll all be in each others lives in some major way."
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to Wilmington to shoot videos with the Tree Hill gang. Watch for mega-coverage next week! — Matt Mitovich
