    Sorkin Back to DAYS
Soap Opera Digest has learned that fan favorite Arleen Sorkin, who appeared as DAYS's Calliope from 1984 to 1990, and made brief returns in 1992 and February, 2006, will be back in May for a short run. "They just called me and asked if I wanted to do it!" she says. "I didn't really let it register, but now it's real! My dialogue? That I ever remembered lines is unbelievable! I emailed Leann [Hunley, Anna] and said, 'You have to work with me. My brain is Teflon.' " She reports to the set today, March 8.
  2. Days: Actor returns

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that John Callahan is back as Dr. Baker, and is not presumed dead as viewers previously thought.

    Callahan Back To DAYS
As recently hinted in Soap Opera Digest, a presumed-dead character is heading back to Salem. We can now confirm it's John Callahan, who will reprise the role of Dr. Richard Baker on April 22. We'd say look out, Nicole, but that's not necessarily who he's crossing paths with this time around...

Lisa Trusel is returning as Melissa for Mickey's funeral for several days later this month.

    Loving it! :)

Days of our Lives, NBC/Global — A Mickey for Maggie?
    • Show runner Gary Tomlin is determined — and rightfully so — to secure Emmy winner Suzanne Rogers her second statuette! Word on the set is that Mickey Horton will die which will drive Maggie back to the bottle. Brilliant, much? Yep! I can’t wait to see this … You just know Lucas (Bryan, you look amazing, by the way! Welcome back!) will be dying to utter the cliché, “Pot. Kettle. Black.”

Exclusive: Murray, Burton exit 'One Tree Hill'

    May 12, 2009, 03:24 PM | by Michael Ausiello

It looks like One Tree Hill newlyweds Peyton and Lucas are about to embark on a permanent honeymoon.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, whose characters tied the knot in last night's penultimate episode, will not be returning for the show's seventh season next fall. The CW is expected to formally announce their departures next Thursday at its upfront presentation.

Murray and Burton have been engaged in rather high-profile contract negotiations for the past several months. Ultimately, a deal couldn't be worked out and both actors will make their final appearances in next Monday's season finale.

To fill the void next season, a Hill insider tells me that two new characters will be introduced. Additionally, Austin Nichols (Julian) is being promoted to a series regular.

What say you, Tree Hill fans? Pumped for OTH 2.0? Too upset to even think about it? Let loose in the comments section. And remember: Don't shoot the messenger. The messenger is good. And a handsome devil to boot.
